Peppermint Stalks

Mr. Mint is a sensitive peppermint lumberjack in Candyland who has been somewhat confined to his home all alone because of a blizzard that has been waging outside for a very long time. To make him feel less lonely, he has begun constructing a candy friend to keep him company, using any materials that he has access to. My final for Intermediate Stop-Motion, Fall 2011

after re-falling in love with the character of Sara Crewe in A Little Princess, me and martín looked the actress up on imdb to see what she was up to and in 2000 she was the voice actress of the sweet blonde thing on the right of this puppet animation called “Horror,” part of a series called “Angry Kid.”

please watch the whole thing, it’s only like a minute and a half and it’s so good. and now things are a little different.

this is my stop motion puppet, lexington!

he’s a kleptomaniac but he moves very VERY slowly, so when he tries to steal things he’s totally obvious. big gaudy jewels are his favorite, but he’s been known to spend days picking a few flowers too.

he has a wire and brass armature and i built him up with foam, latex, and light sculpey, and i flocked him so he’s fuzzy too!
