The story behind this doll is she belonged to a couple of nurses when the phenomena started. “The doll started to move around the apartment by itself. I don’t mean it got up and walked around, or any such thing. I mean when we’d come home from work it would never be quite where we left it.” The dolls legs and arms would move from the position it was left in.
Things got even stranger from then on. The doll would end up in completely different rooms then where she belonged. The doll would be found kneeling by the front door, and would leave notes around the home with parchment paper which they did not own. The owners called a psychic to explain the odd things going on with the doll. The psychic told them the spirit of a seven year old girl named Annabelle was killed in the area and was now living in the doll. They accepted this and began calling her Annabelle. They then began treating her like a human because they had compassion for the poor girl. Lou, one of the nurses friends was at the apartment and heard something that sounded like someone breaking into the house. He went into the room that the noise came from and all that was wrong was Annabelle was laying in the corner of the room. He walked toward it and felt like someone was behind him and at the moment he turned around he felt a sharp pain in his chest. He ran out of the room holding his chest. When he opened his shirt him and Angie (one of the nurses) saw 3 vertical and 4 horizontal claw marks on his chest. The marks were not ordinary cuts, they were hot and felt more like burns.
After this they realized they needed to contact Ed and Lorraine Warren, two of the most well known and respected demonoligist/paranormal researchers in the world. Ed listened to these stories and took the doll deciding they were subject to a demonic posession not a 7 year old girl living in a doll. The doll remains to this day in the Warrens Occult museum where this picture was taken.
